The Sainte-Geneviève Library is an inter-university and public library. It preserves and enriches its multidisciplinary research-level collections, consisting of nearly two million documents, including 18,300 periodical titles. Its collections, which are enriched each year with more than 15,000 works, are divided into three collections: the General Collection for documents published from 1830 to the present day, the Reserve for mainly ancient, rare, and precious collections (manuscripts, incunabula, prints, and printed works), and the Nordic Library, which offers—in addition to its heritage collections—one of the richest collections in Europe in the field of Finnish and Scandinavian studies.
